Vinyl Record Number Scanning

Your Mobile OCR Solution
A vinyl record catalog number is assigned to each release of a record company to group records and methodically tie them to this particular release. This happens with vinyl (33, 45 and 78 rpm) records, compact discs, cassettes, 8-track tapes and DVDs. The number is used to track sales through distributors and for a label’s in-house accounting purposes.
The inconspicuous number might not mean much to an average record buyer—in fact, most people wouldn’t notice it. On the other hand, for music sellers, disc jockeys, record collectors and music junkies, a catalog number is very important. The number could identify whether or not a record is rare, imported, out-of-print or of certain historic value.
We’ve chosen preconfiguring our OCR SDK for vinyl record numbers, because we do have a huge heart for hipsters. After all, we’re a startup and working from a fancy loft. Any more questions? Looking forward to all the contemporary, artsy and hip apps built around this configuration.
